Terms of use

What Lucioles is
Lucioles connects people who want to be walked home with volunteers available nearby, the lucioles. The service is free, ad-free, and published by a private individual (see the legal notice). By using the app, you accept these terms.
Adults only
You must be 18 or over to sign up and use Lucioles. One account per person and per phone number.
No guarantee of help
- Lucioles are volunteers, not security professionals. Nobody guarantees that a luciole will be available, or will arrive in time.
- Lucioles does not check members’ identity. The selfie, keywords and ratings help you make good choices, but stay alert. You can turn someone down or end a walk at any time.
- The app can fail, lose the network or the position. It is provided as is.
In an emergency, call emergency services
Lucioles does not replace emergency services. The SOS button opens the call (15 first in France) and alerts nearby lucioles, but you place the call yourself. In France: 15 (medical, SAMU), 17 (police), 18 (fire), 112 (emergencies in Europe), 114 (by text, if you can’t speak).
Code of conduct
- Be respectful, honest about who you are, and use your real face for the selfie.
- Use Lucioles only to walk someone home or be walked home. Never to follow, find or bother someone.
- Start an SOS only when you really need it. Mistakes happen, and the app lets you say so. A deliberate false alarm can get you excluded.
- A luciole doesn’t act instead of the police: in danger, they call emergency services.
If these rules are broken, an account can be suspended or closed.
The sticker
The Lucioles sticker or pin is a sign of pride, not proof of identity. Always trust the app: selfie and keywords.

Changes and governing law
These terms may change; important changes are announced in the app. They are governed by French law.
